at Oakland Mercy Hospital are celebrated during Hospital Week. Each year,
longevity awards are given to those staffers that have been with the facility
for 5, 10, 15, etc. years.
In 2008, OMH celebrated
the following people: 5 years - Jessica Crimmins and Scott McClain; 10 years
- Karen Nelson; 15 years - Jan Bray; 20 years - Margaret Johnson;
30 years - Mona Tanksley.
Employees also have the opportunity to vote for who goes the extra mile for
the hospital, clinics, and staff members. The 2008 Staff Member of the
Year is Rita Going. The following are comments written about Rita:
Rita is always there to lend a helping hand no matter what time of day it is. She is excited to learn new things and is kind and considerate to the patients. Rita provides excellent patient care, is willing to cover extra shifts to help out, provides leadership to new staff and always maintains a positive attitude. Rita is hard working, willing to come in when needed, is always thinkng about others and kind to all. Rita is a great team player and a pleasure to work with. Rita is accountable and goes above and beyond the call of duty.
As Oakland Mercy Hospital’s Staff Member of the Year, Rita will receive
a “Caring Kind” award from the Nebraska Hospital Association
at the annual convention in the fall.
