| The 3 rd Annual Oakland Mercy Hospital Foundation Golf Tournament was held on Friday, August 12 th . Fifty-four golfers participated in the event and there were 33 hole sponsors. Tim Magnusson and Kent Rogart won the tournament with a score of 65. Jarvis Guill and Ken Elsasser placed 2 nd with a score of 66. Third place was awarded by a scorecard playoff to Chris Rhoades and Brian Brown with a 67. Tyler Nixon won the putting contest, which took place prior to the tournament. No one was able to claim the $500 cash prize in the hole-in-one contest sponsored by First National Bank Northeast and the Washington County Bank. Winning the prizes for closest to the hole on those designated holes were Tom Cameron and Tim Murphy. Administrator Tim Fischer stated, “We again had a great turn out this year and couldn't have asked for a better day to play golf. We sincerely appreciate all the support we received from the numerous golfers, hole sponsors and others who contributed to the tournament. Bob Wonka and his staff are always easy to work with and Donna always makes a great meal to end the day. This year we raised nearly $8,500.” This years hole sponsors were: A.M. Anderson Abstract Co, Pelan Funeral Services, Logan Valley Insurance, First National Bank Northeast, John Terry, MD, Oakland Independent & Lyons Mirror Sun, Steiny's General Store & Fontanelle, Mercy Medical Center, StarCam Farms, Professional Associates, Seim Johnson, Bronze Bow Anesthesia, Kent & Brenda Andersen, Central Valley Ag, Connealy Insurance, Magnusson Farms, Helena Chemical Co., Washington County Bank, Nebraska Public Power Distrcit, Cornhusker Ag Group, Brown's Medical Imaging, Oakland Mutual Insurance Agency, Rehab Visions, Black Hills Energy, Physician's Laboratory, J& K Excavating, Cardiovascular Associates, American Broadband, Midwest Veterinary Services, Dr. Paul Johnson – Midlands Clinic, Smith Law Office, Ronnfeldt Farms and Anderson Hardware.
